Accountants On Purpose

Jan 28, 2020

Our guest Chris Hooper, at the time of this interview, was the CEO of Accodex. Unfortunately, Accodex has since gone into liquidation and we feel it’s important to show this interview because it highlights the rollercoaster that is entrepreneurship and how real it can be.

Chris Hooper is an accounting futurist who believes that accountants can change the world! He is passionate about helping small business owners and he was one of South Australia’s inaugural Top 40 under 40 Business Leaders last year.

We would like to give a shout out to Chris and say that we are here for you.

In this episode we cover:

  • Chris’ obsession with Disney movies and the meaning behind his favourite song from Aladdin - Prince Ali.
  • How being involved in “Bake Sales” as a child, was the launching pad for Chris’ accounting and business career and the lightbulb moment later on.
  • Not finishing High School did not mean that University was out of reach.
  • Why the most important step for young accountants is to have a mentor.
  • The motivation behind starting Accodex with a friend from High School.
  • What it means to be an accounting futurist.

And much more! Check out the full episode.
